Club History - 22 Years of Golf

Bushwood originated in 2003 with a bunch of fathers who's children attended school together in San Mateo California. The group membership has expanded over the years to include friends, family, and work colleagues from all over the Bay area who share a passion for the game of golf, comradery, playful banter and casually fierce competition.

Bushwood plays monthly tournaments from February through November at courses all over the Bay Area. Members play in these 10 tournaments according to the rules of golf to earn FedEx Cup style points. The four members with the most points after the November tournament play in a Club Championship in December (Paid by Bushwood).  At each tournament members play for those important yearly points, prizes for lowest net scores and "closest to the pin" on par 3's.  

Each year we host a bracketed Match Play tournament. 

This fun format of competition pits individuals against other members in head to head win or lose matches at the course of their choosing.  Successful players move up to the final event, where they battle for the coveted title of Match Play Champion and most lucrative prize of the year.

The club currently has around 25 members with open registration to increase the members to around 50 players, to ensure a consistent 16 to 20 player turn-out for monthly tournaments.

Pacific Grove - May 17th

Bushwood was again blessed with a beautiful day...three tournaments in a row!  Seascape proved to be challenging for all, especially the long Par 3's!  Thanks to our guests and new member prospects that came out today to again fill out a field of 20 players.  We even had a legacy member come out - good to see Jim Gravesande!
